Entering a Sequential List of IP Addresses in RSLinx
Ever wanted to add a long list of sequential list of IP addresses in RSLinx? Well you can now.
1. Start run regedit [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RockwellSoftware\RSlinx\Drivers\AB_ETH\AB_ETH-1\Node 2. Right Click on the folder then save a copy (Secret Handshake do this 2 times 1 to edit another to BACK-UP) Close regedit 3. Open the copy that you just made in NotePad just to see what it is going to look like. 4. Open the Excel file attached under the Tools, Macro, Macros... edit the NEW INCREMENT 5. Change the IP address under the third group according to what your system is. 6. Run the MACRO 7. Delete the 63 address in the system RSLinx uses it is a Driver 8. Save it as an .XLS 9. Open in OpenOffice.org Calc (You may be able to do this in excel I could not get it to work) 10. Save-As and select the Save as type of Text CSV the file name will need to have .reg after it. Check the filter settings and hit save 11. A warning will come up saying that the format in the document may not be saved in a Text CSV file format. Click Yes 12. The next window will have a area to select the Text Delimiter. Delete the “ and click OK 13. File the .reg.csv in where you stored it at on your computer and Open it in NotePad and compare the original you should see the same format. 14. After you are satisfied that the format is the same. Close All the other EXCEL, NOTEPAD, VB, Ect. And find the .reg.csv file. 15. Double click on the file and a Registry Editor box will pop up asking if you want to add the info in the file to the Registry Click Yes 16. Another box should pop up with the Info has been successfully added to the registry. 17. Open RSLinx verify the address are where you want them.
